The PUG Board and the 2017 Project Users Group (PUG) Conference

The User Group began in 1986 and as the group evolved, the name has changed with it. Starting out as the AASHTO BAMS Users Group (BUG) changing to the Trns·port Users Group (TUG) and today it is known as the Project Users Group (PUG). The people that comprise the user group, the PUG, come together specifically to view new software releases, exchange ideas, discuss issues, and improve their overall capabilities using the AASHTOWare Project suite of products.

The PUG has a four-member Board of Directors that consist of a Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Past Chairperson, and Secretary-Treasurer. To serve on the Board of Directors, you must be an official representative or appointed by an official representative of a member organization. The Vice Chair and the Secretary-Treasurer are elected at the annual users group meeting. The Chair is filled by advancement of the previous Vice Chair. The current PUG Board of Directors includes:

Chairman Ellis Holder, Indiana DOT
Vice Chairman John Thomas, Oklahoma DOT 
Secretary/Treasurer Tammy Mancinelli, Virginia DOT
Past Chairman Danica Stovall-Taylor, Missouri DOT

The PUG Board of Directors invites everyone to attend the 2017 PUG Conference in Kalispell, Montana the week of September 23 – 27, 2017.  You can check out the conference website for more information. Some of the objectives of the conference include:
  • Provide a forum for a unified voice to direct the course of the AASHTOWare Project software
  • Provide cooperative technical support of the AASHTOWare Project products
  • Provide input and submit recommendations to the AASHTOWare Project Task Force
The PUG Board has prepared a letter to assist with justification to explain the benefits of attending the conference, take a look.
