BrDR 7.9 Enhancements in the Works

Planning is now underway for the startup of the BrDR 7.9 development. The BrDR 7.9 release is scheduled for July 2027.

List of major enhancements included with the 7.9 release:

1. Culvert SSI Phase 2.1 – Reinforced Concrete Box Culvert Part 1

Phase 2 will implement the SSI culvert analysis in BrDR by creating the BrDR Database/API, BrDR User Interface, and the BrDR SSI RC Box Culvert Engine. Part 1 of the Phase 2 effort will include the Database/API, User Interface, and the SSI FE Dead Load analysis of RC Box Culverts. Part 2 of the Phase 2 effort is planned for the 8.0 release will include FE Live Load analysis, Specification Checking, and Results reporting for the SSI analysis of RC Box Culverts.

2. Next Generation of Report Tool Phase 3 – Analysis Output

This task is a continuation of the Report Tool 2.0 Phase 1 and 2. The goal of Report Tool 2.0 is to replace the existing reporting functionality. This phase will include implementing LFR, LRFR, LRFD Analysis Output reports, NSG reports, and Truss engine reports in the Report Tool 2.0. This phase will also include enhanced printing capabilities.

3. Steel Plate Girder Design Tool Integration

This task will integrate the existing standalone Steel Plate Girder Design Tool into the core BrDR product.

4. AASHTO Analysis Engine 2.0 – Influence Line/Surface Loader Module, Lane Pattern Generator, and 3D Stress Integration Module

The goal of AASHTO Analysis Engine 2.0 is to transition the engine into a modular architecture that will allow for addressing the existing limitations and shortcomings and allow for more flexible engine results collection and reporting. This task will implement the Influence Line/Surface Loader Module, Lane Pattern Generator, and 3D Stress Integration Module.
