AASHTOWare Bridge Design and Rating (BrDR) 7.8 Beta Testing Update
June 11, 2026Beta testing for BrDR 7.8 began on March 6th with the release of the Beta 1 build. A virtual kickoff meeting was held on March 10th to prepare the Testing Technical Advisory Group (TAG) for the upcoming Beta Testing schedule.
Four Beta builds were planned for the 7.8 development. An installer package that is specific to a build number and the Internal Release Utility (IRU) are utilized to deliver the Beta builds to the Testing TAG. The IRU is a standalone application that allows the Testing TAG to download, install, and test the latest development changeset in a short turnaround. A development build changeset of the software occurs throughout the day. This allows a beta tester to test an issue that has been fixed as soon as the developer makes the change to the software.
In addition to the virtual BrDR 7.8 Beta Testing Kickoff meeting on March 10th, the Testing TAG met in-person at the ProMiles office in Pittsburgh, PA on April 14th to 16th for a dedicated testing session with ProMiles Staff.
