AASHTOWare PMED Training in Vermont

March 28, 2025

The Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTRANS) hosted AASHTOWare PMED training in Montpelier, VT on March 11-13, 2025. John Donahue and Wouter Brink from ARA provided the instruction. Topics covered included mechanistic-empirical modeling, as it applies to pavement design, and basic descriptions of performance models for all pavement types in the PMED program. Attendees also had hands-on experience creating and running performance analyses on different pavement types with the web application version 3.0. The final day of instruction was spent overviewing application of the AASHTOWare Backcalculation Tool (BcT) and Calibration Assistance Tool (CAT), which are available to all PMED licensees.

Other State DOTs and Canadian transportation agencies may purchase service units through AASHTO and apply them towards PMED-related training instruction.
