BrDR Database Hosting Services

A new hosted database service is now available for agencies with the Unlimited licensing option. Database hosting services are provided by the AASHTOWare Bridge Design and Rating (BrDR) contractor, ProMiles Software Development Corporation (ProMiles).

The first year of hosting includes a one-month startup period to build the environment and establish the connection with the licensee. This startup phase also includes an initial kick-off meeting with ProMiles to review requirements and address any specific needs.

While this is not the anticipated upcoming multi-tenant, fully SaaS database, moving to a hosted database now will make that future transition easier.

The database hosting services include the following predefined managed services:

• Two production site migrations per database;
• Test database access (before and/or after upgrades);
• Periodic refreshing of test database data from production database;
• Unlimited number of users can access;
• Integrated Azure Entra ID Authentication;
• Performance monitoring by ProMiles;
• Automatic nightly database backups retained in Azure Blob storage for 90 days; and
• Data encryption (both at rest and in transit).
