April 16, 2022Two additional webinars are scheduled for this fiscal year. The webinar topics are selected based on feedback from webinar poll question responses, user group meetings, and commonly asked questions.
The next webinar, Composite Pavement Design and the AASHTOWare PMED Software, will be held on May 26, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Central. This webinar will provide an overview and use of the PMED software for the design and evaluation of new composite pavements as defined within the SHRP2 program under R21.
New composite pavement design was a high priority item under the SHRP2 program and was defined as a new PCC wearing surface of a new PCC base layer or an asphalt wearing surface over a new PCC base layer. The SHRP2 program showed the new composite pavement design strategy has exhibited excellent performance. However, the AASHTOWare Pavement ME Design software does not permit the use of a new asphalt layer placed over a new PCC layer unless the new composite pavement is considered a semi-rigid pavement. The intent of this webinar is to provide an overview and some suggestions on the simulation and design of new composite pavements, as defined within the SHRP2 program, using the AASHTOWare PMED software.
