SNBI Submittal Management for 2026 – AASHTOWare Bridge Management 7.1.5 Patch

March 10, 2026

March 15th is the deadline for the first FHWA NBI data submittal that uses the SNBI data and reporting protocol. AASHTOWare Bridge Management (BrM) is built to support your data quality review and SNBI reporting processes! The BrM 7.1.5 patch is available to modify the 2026 SNBI JSON submittal and is recommended for all agencies. This update allows an agency to report a larger history of inspections being performed on a given bridge by including not only the most recent inspection event (regardless of dates performed) but also any inspection events with an Inspection Begin Date (B.IE.02) on or after 1/1/2025.

Additionally, two enhancements to support the SNBI submittal process are available with the BrM 7.1.5 release: a dashboard that flags any bridges with multiple inspections of the same type on the same day (which may have been inadvertently created) and a new report that runs a check of the NBIS Metrics on your bridge data. These tools are intended to assist with data quality for your agency’s submittal.

Users should note that the Metrics report was intended to be part of the BrM 7.2 release and has not been through the complete user acceptance testing (UAT) process. It is possible that it will need improvement with subsequent updates. The Task Force decided to release this report early to assist agencies with data quality review in advance of the first SNBI submittal. Use this report with the awareness that you may find some errors and if you do find anything that is not as it should be, please report the problems. Consider use of this report as part of the UAT process. To obtain the Metrics Report email a request to any of the Task Force members.
