Take a peek at the BrDR 7.6 and 7.7 New Features and Enhancement

Work is now underway on the BrDR 7.6 release which is scheduled for the last quarter of 2024. The primary focus of the 7.6 release is to provide users with the latest updates to the AASHTO bridge specifications as soon as they become available. The 7.6 release will implement the 10th Edition of the AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications and provide the 2023 interim updates to the AASHTO Manual for Bridge Evaluation.

Some of the major enhancements included with the 7.6 release include the following:

  1. AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications, 10th Edition
  2. AASHTO Manual for Bridge Evaluation 2023 interim updates
  3. BrDR development migration to the .NET 8 software development platform

The BrDR 7.7 release targeted for the last quarter of 2025 will introduce Load and Resistance Factor Rating (LRFR) of reinforced concrete pier caps. In addition, the 7.7 release will include the Phase 2 implementation of the next generation of the Report Tool. The second phase will complete the Bridge Workspace reporting for all superstructure types and start the implementation of analysis output data reporting.

Some of the major enhancements included with the 7.7 release include the following:

  1. Reinforced concrete pier cap LRFR
  2. Next generation of Report Tool Phase 2
  3. AASHTO Finite Element Engine non-linear formulation of soil-culvert interaction
  4. AASHTO Analysis Engine output data management improvements
