Pre-Production Testing Environment

June 10, 2026

The AASHTOWare Project Task Force has announced a new enhancement to Hosting Services, provided by Infotech, aimed at streamlining agency testing and evaluation. Beginning with the launch of the new AASHTOWare Catalog on July 1, 2026, hosting licensees will have access to a dedicated pre‑production testing environment as one of the five standard sites included in the service. While use of this environment is optional, it offers a valuable tool for agencies seeking to stay ahead of software changes with minimal disruption.

This pre-production testing site provides a dedicated environment for agencies to conduct testing using a replica of their production environment. This enables teams to evaluate the active pre-production release (N+1) early and validate how upcoming enhancements or maintenance items address specific agency needs before going live. This also enables agency users on Agile Enhancement Teams (AETs) to evaluate TMRs in progress using their own data instead of relying on generic data on the TRT Preview site.

These pre-production sites will be kept up to date as Infotech will push updates to the site as new stable builds become available. These updates are deployed during agreed upon off-hour windows. Additionally, this pre-production environment option includes the ability to get three annual data refreshes from another site (likely Production) on an N or N-1 release to ensure the testing environment data remains current.

Acquiring this environment is straightforward and adaptable to each agency’s current hosted footprint. Any agency not currently using all five allotted sites can request it directly by reaching out to the hosting team – hosting.services@infotechinc.com. Organizations that have already maximized their five-site base allotment can either swap out an underutilized instance such as a completed module implementation site or purchase the FY27 Supplemental Instance Add-On Option which provides three additional sites. This would allow an agency to move one site from the base set of five sites to the add-on site, freeing up a slot for the pre-production environment. This new offering promises to empower agencies to prepare for software updates with maximum confidence and reduced manual overhead.
