AASHTO Marketing Update

February 26, 2020

AASHTO partners with our official contractor, Infotech, to provide the user community with valuable tools and resources to help you get the most out of your AASHTOWare Project experience. Here’s what’s new and upcoming for AASHTOWare Project digital resources and instructional content:

The AASHTOWare Project Webinar Series Continues

Just this month, we continued our ongoing webinar series with a deep dive in AASHTOWare Project Estimation™. Product experts Erica Daughtry and Jeff Hisem covered different use cases and best practices for the module. On April 7, we will be hosting a similar webinar on the AASHTOWare Project Civil Rights & Labor™ module, so be on the lookout for your invitation to attend. The PTF and AASHTO are currently in the process of planning the next phase of the webinar series that will continue into 2021.

As a reminder, all AASHTOWare Project users can access webinar recordings by following the steps below:

  1. Log in to aashtowareproject.org
  2. Navigate to Modules>AASHTOWare Project at A Glance
  3. Select AASHTOWare Project Webinars

We Need Your Input on Future Webinars

Have a good idea for a webinar or a topic that you’re looking to learn more about? We need your input! Our user community directly informs our webinar schedule. As we plan future webinars in 2020 and 2021, we’d love to know what topics our users would like us to cover. If you have a suggestion for a possible webinar, please contact a PTF member or your Account Manager with ideas.

The AASHTOWare Project Leadership Kit

Within the last year, almost half of the existing state DOT heads (who sit on AASHTO’s Board of Directors) have left their positions and been replaced by new faces. While some of those new CEOs had familiarity with AASHTO before taking on their new roles, many had little or no interaction with the organization. This was both a challenge and an opportunity—AASHTO staff had to get new members up to speed on the organization and what it offers, but also looked for exciting new partnerships. AASHTOWare wanted to seize the opportunity with new state DOT CEOs, showcasing the value and wide usage of the program. To do this, the team created a new leadership kit, hand delivered by AASHTO Executive Director Jim Tymon during his initial meeting with new state DOT CEOs. The kit includes a personalized letter from Program Director Jan Edwards (along with her business card), an infographic showcasing the benefits, history, and range of the program, a personalized “agency involvement sheet” which highlights what software that individual state currently utilizes from the AASHTOWare program, and literature about each of the four individual business areas (including AASHTOWare Project). These kits have been hand-delivered and discussed with almost 20 of those new state DOT CEOs, allowing AASHTOWare’s value to be thoroughly displayed and discussed early in each new CEO’s tenure.

Marketing materials for the AASHTOWare Project 4.3 update will also be distributed shortly. More information on that can be found in the February newsletter article on the topic. If you have any questions about these updates, feel free to reach out to your Infotech Account Manager.
