AASHTOWare Project 4.3 Release
February 26, 2020You’re likely reading this article in the middle of winter, and unless you’re into skiing or ice fishing, you’re likely wishing for any season other than winter. You may be looking forward to spring, or reflecting back on last fall. Hopefully, we can give you something to look forward to this chilly season: the release of AASHTOWare Project 4.3.
You’re probably used to thinking about annual AASHTOWare Project releases in the fall. The fall releases will continue, but AASHTO and the PTF are trying something new for this year - semiannual enhancement releases. We listened to your feedback - especially your desire for faster delivery of new functionality. So only six months after the release of AASHTOWare Project 4.2, we are planning to release AASHTOWare Project 4.3 at the end of February 2020. You might expect to only see a few enhancements from this release, but it is packed with 15 enhancements and 102 maintenance, warranty, and technical Upgrades. Some of the enhancements include:
AASHTOWare Project Estimation™
- APR-17242 Allow For Category Assignment to a Typical Section
- APR-17364 Copy All Cost Estimate Children
- APR-17817 Set Default Value For CE BHP and CE Typical Section BHP When Cost Estimate Is Created
- APR-17939 Include Cost From Typical Section Profiles in Reference Percentage Prices for Items
AASHTOWare Project Civil Rights & Labor™
- APR-18371 Restrict Payroll Exception Viewing Or Resolution Until After Paper Copy Received Date Field Has Been Set
- APR-18176 Check the Normal Salary Plus the Project Lump Sum Payment Against Total Gross Pay
AASHTOWare Project Construction & Materials™
Construction:
- APR-18606 Modify the stockpile recovery calculation to use the Transaction Date on the stockpile instead of the system Created_Date
- APR-15389 Allow Adding Supplemental Description For Unattached Item
- APR-18840 Allow funding to be assigned at the most granular level (when adding Change Order Items – new unattached or contract items)
Materials:
- APR-17567 Improved interaction with multiple tests on a sample record
- APR-17604 & APR-18370 The ability to add vendors to mix designs and daily source report
- APR-18814 The ability to allow editing daily source report by others
Agency Views
- APR-16699 Support DateTime field types in Agency Views
- APR-16715 Increase input limit of the On Create, On Save, Value, and Code fields in Agency View, Agency Entity, Agency Entity Field, and Agency View Graphic Control.

The PTF hopes that all agencies will find value in the enhancements and warranty fixes in this release, and encourages agencies to begin planning to upgrade to the latest version. We will continue semiannual enhancement releases through next year, with releases in Fall 2020, Spring 2021, and Fall 2021.
