AASHTOWare Project™ 4.8 Release

November 29, 2022

Upgrade now for new functionality and bug fixes!

AASHTOWare Project™ 4.8 was released on October 7, 2022, and it is packed with enhancements, tech upgrades, and warranty fixes. Agencies are encouraged to upgrade as soon as possible in order to take advantage of these improvements.

The Project Task Force (PTF), AASHTO, and Infotech have been encouraging agencies to upgrade to the newer versions, and we’re making great progress! Just prior to the 4.8 release, we found that 80% of agencies are using the three newest versions, and only eight agencies are using versions that are out of warranty (and only two agencies are using versions that are no longer supported). We appreciate your efforts to remain current, and we’re sure that your users will appreciate the new fixes and functionality.

If you would like to know more about the new release, we highly recommend you set aside 20 minutes to watch the AASHTOWare Project 4.8 Release Webinar. This video is on the aashtowareproject.org Resources > Videos page, under Project Videos > Recent Webinars. After watching that video, scroll down to find individual TMR recordings, which are also linked from each TMR. If you find these recordings useful, please let us know and recommend them to a coworker.

There are a total of 13 enhancements and 7 tech upgrades in this release, with an additional 93 resolved bug-fix TMRs. As promised, this release completes support for Small Business Program (SBP) that started in Project 4.6.This release also includes several agency view enhancements, including a new component to show Agency Views that have Associations to an Agency Entity, and adds Agency Entities and Agency Views to Person records and Daily Source Reports. This release also includes several tech upgrades that improve the installation/upgrade process: APR-23388 “Update Installer to Allow Processes Installed Separately from Application Server,” and APR-24323 “Address Issues With Installation” that will allow installers to add/remove features without having to uninstall and reinstall the installation, and use the same port for different portions of the web-based project.
