AASHTOWare Project Strategic Work Plan Update

May 27, 2025

Every five years the AASHTOWare Task Forces and staff assemble a strategic work plan to guide the development and administration of all AASHTOWare products. Each Product Task Force then prepares a Strategic Work Plan to ensure their ongoing work and direction is aligned with AASHTOWare’s strategic principles. The AASHTOWare Project Task Force (PTF) is currently in the process of setting forth goals and tasks to ensure AASHTOWare Project meets those overall principles.

To ensure active engagement from all Task Forces and Committees, AASHTOWare established the AASHTOWare Strategic Work Plan Implementation Committee, which includes one representative from each product. This committee, which began meeting quarterly in February, will act as a liaison for all strategic planning efforts moving forward.

AASHTOWare will be implementing the FY25-FY30 Strategic Plan beginning July 2, 2025. The PTF has recognized that our investment in the User Community will highlight three principles of that plan; Member Experience, Internal Operations, and Marketing & Advocacy. This initiative supports training, community engagement, and succession planning across the AASHTOWare user network. The PTF is hoping to see strong participation and engagement from our member agencies at this year’s PUG.

In support of these strategic principles, the PTF announced on April 24, 2025, that AASHTO will offer complimentary registration fees for the annual PUG Conference for some agency attendees. Beginning with the 2025 PUG in Columbus, OH, agencies are eligible to receive one complimentary registration per licensed module, based on their licenses at the time of submission. Eligible modules include:

  • Preconstruction
  • Estimation
  • Data Analytics
  • Civil Rights & Labor
  • Construction
  • Materials
  • Asset Tracker

The PTF is hopeful that this investment will help agencies ensure they have representation at the PUG Conference for the modules they license. AASHTOWare Project relies heavily on the participation of the member agencies in our community and the PTF wishes to encourage that participation.
