Incorporating the Highway Safety Manual, Including Part-C, in the Design Process

Has your agency been trying to incorporate the Highway Safety Manual Part-C into your design process? In this webinar, State Traffic Safety Engineers from Wisconsin DOT cover how they are currently incorporating the HSM Part-C in their process, and the successes they’ve seen. We discuss their use of our new Alternative Design tool and demonstrate the benefits of using it in your design process.

Do the Math. Save a Life. How Idaho Teachers are Using Crash Data to Make Algebra Concepts Consequential

There is a question that comes up each year in high school math classes across the country – “when will I ever use this stuff?” This year, educators and traffic safety practitioners in Idaho partnered to answer that question for students in the state. The result is the newly launched program “Do the Math. Save a Life.” This new program uses Idaho’s public facing crash dashboards to teach Algebra and data analysis skills. The crash data is used to provide examples of math in real life and teaches students lessons like scatter plots, frequency tables, and analyzing claims.
