Alliance News – ForneyVault
May 28, 2024AASHTOWare Innovation Summit: Bridging Sources of Truth, a Contractor’s perspective
AASHTOWare’s recent Innovation Summit in Chattanooga was an incredible forum for Agencies and technology providers to come together and discuss the current technology landscape and the vision of interoperability among multiple solutions to achieve a seamless data flow. And ForneyVault was glad to join the conversation.
Breaking down technology silos starts with opening lines of communication. As an Alliance Partner, ForneyVault was honored to participate in AASHTOWare’s Innovation Summit. The central theme: When construction technology stacks integrate, we can collectively answer more and better questions about projects, creating a path to better outcomes.
AASHTOWare Project is a central hub for the entire construction lifecycle – from design, bids and estimates to construction materials and data analytics. To achieve interoperability with other technologies, AASHTOWare recently launched its Open API. We dug into some details at the summit and dreamed about the possibilities.
Bridging Sources of Truth for Your Agency
Important information is everywhere:
- Design
- Job sites
- Contractors
- Material testing labs
- Other software tools, including:
- CAD software to design new infrastructure
- QC platforms to track project quality
- eTicketing platforms
- Accounting systems to track budgets and spend
- Asset management software to track Agency assets
- And more
How can agencies get a clear picture of every detail of every project and asset in your state? What kind of new insights can we gain when all of these sources of truth automate data communications?
Here’s our example.
ForneyVault + AASHTOWare Project Interface
At the Innovation Summit, we had the opportunity to discuss the ForneyVault + AASHTOWare Project Interface alongside our partner at Nebraska DOT, Ty Carlson, an active ForneyVault and AASHTOWare Project user.
ForneyVault automates concrete testing and then seamlessly connects that data with AASHTOWare Project.
- Before the test: A unique identifier, which is tied to historical sample data, is applied to a specimen.
- During the test: The specimen label is scanned to preload specimen data points, preventing invalid testing parameters and running “Smart Checks.”
- After the test: Test data syncs to AASHTOWare Project via OpenAPI.
With this interface, critical test data is now in context with the rest of your project, increasing data accuracy and validity.
What Does the Future Look Like?
More and more Agencies are transitioning from the legacy Site Manager to AASHTOWare Project. As you finish onboarding to AASHOWare Project Construction & Materials, ForneyVault is there to help you start adding important information to your work processes.
This is only the beginning. With AASHTOWare Open API, you can take full advantage of the tools your Agency is already using – and unlock a world of possibilities that lead to better project outcomes.
