An Update on the AASHTOWare Project Bids to SaaS Effort

August 26, 2021

First planned release in February for agency users

The AASHTOWare Project Taskforce (PTF) is working with Infotech to gradually upgrade AASHTOWare Project Bids into a new SaaS solution. We are making this change to reduce the number of systems required for bidding and create a more efficient bidding process for contractors and agencies alike.

The first piece of this project is releasing in February for agency users and will not affect contractor activities. Currently, in pilot testing, this update will split the installations of the Gen and Load components away from the Entry component installation – essentially creating separate clients that will communicate with a SaaS version of Gen and Load.

This change allows agencies to conduct a single installation for the Gen and Load components, automatically installing any warranty fixes and enhancements on the server without the need to reinstall clients. Essentially, the cloud version of Gen and Load will regularly update and communicate those changes to your clients to keep you up-to-date.

The February release is just one small step towards the overall vision of a streamlined bidding experience. The PTF is currently in an ongoing discussion with Infotech regarding the next steps for the AASHTOWare Project Bids to SaaS effort. Stay tuned for updates in future newsletters, and let your Infotech Account Manager know if you have any questions.
