EUD Onboarding

August 26, 2025

The AASHTOWare Project team is dedicated to supporting End User Designees (EUDs) with enhanced onboarding resources, peer mentorship, and microlearning tools.

Onboarding and Best Practices Session

On August 18, AASHTOWare held its EUD Onboarding and Best Practices session, offering new and existing EUDs a practical overview of key responsibilities, tools, and expectations. The session covered:

  • Internal agency communication
  • Licensing coordination
  • Software distribution
  • The importance of serving as a liaison between agencies and AASHTO stakeholders

Microlearning Tools

A highlight of the session was a presentation by Steven Day (Infotech), who introduced a new series of short, focused video tutorials. These are now available on the Microlearning tab of the AASHTOWare Project Videos page (login required). These videos aim to make onboarding more accessible and digestible through quick, role-specific guidance.

EUD Mentorship Program

The session also emphasized the EUD Mentorship Program, launched in 2024 to connect experienced EUDs with those newer to the role. To date, six states have participated, with one mentee already graduating from the program. Through quarterly check-ins and one-on-one support, the program fosters:

  • Knowledge sharing
  • Confidence building
  • A stronger EUD network

Commitment to the EUD Community

These efforts are part of AASHTOWare’s broader commitment to building a knowledgeable and well-supported EUD community. Whether you’re new to the role or a seasoned designee, we encourage you to explore these resources and stay actively engaged.
