On February 5, 2025, AASHTO hosted a Town Hall meeting to provide updates and insights on the AASHTOWare Project. The session, led by the Project Task Force (PTF), covered a variety of critical topics, including licensing changes, technical updates, project enhancements, and upcoming events.
Key updates included upcoming FY26 licensing changes, with an 8% increase in individual options and a 6% increase for bundled options. Agencies were advised to plan ahead, especially regarding the transition to exclusive cloud hosting by July 1, 2027. Technical updates highlighted the removal of IronPython, the transition to CPython, and the upcoming OData version upgrade.
Participants also learned about the continued success of the joint funding initiative, which has delivered numerous product enhancements, and the benefits of the Agile Enhancement process to prioritize features and reduce development costs. Additionally, announcements were made regarding the upcoming webinars and conferences, including the AASHTOWare Connect Meeting in April and the PUG 2025 Conference in October.
A highlight of the Town Hall was the presentation of the Lisa Durbin Dynamic Performance Award, which honors exceptional volunteer contributions to the AASHTOWare community. This year’s award was presented to David Castleberg (WisDOT) for his outstanding commitment, leadership, and impact on the project.
The session concluded with a Q&A, where attendees expressed their appreciation for the updates and opportunities to engage further with the PTF.
