  • Before the test: A unique identifier, which is tied to historical sample data from AASHTOWare Project, is applied to a specimen.
  • During the test: The specimen label is scanned to preload specimen data points into the machine, allowing the machine to run “Smart Checks” that prevent invalid testing parameters.
  • After the test: Test data syncs to AASHTOWare Project.

At the center of it all is your material testing machine. But what if you don’t have an automatic test machine or a machine manufactured by Forney?

No problem!

To enable the interface, you do need certain hardware. However, you don’t need to buy a brand new Forney Automatic Machine. In fact, you can upgrade any machine from any manufacturer with a Forney Retropak, an easy retrofit kit that incorporates automatic controls and a touchscreen interface.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Remove Old Hardware from Your Existing Machine: Start by carefully removing your machine’s power. Then, disconnect and remove the existing hydraulics and display interface.
  2. Connect the Forney Retropak: Place the Forney Retropak next to your existing machine’s frame. Connect the new hydraulic hose and limit switch and plug the machine into an outlet.
  3. Run Automatic Tests: Enable ForneyVault on the touchscreen interface and begin running fully automatic tests.
