Celebrating AASHTOWare Project’s Agents of Change

Well, the time is finally here. This marks my last article as your PUG Chair. This year has truly been amazing, the volunteers of this community are extraordinarily dedicated to improving the future of AASHTOWare Project. It was a privilege to work with all the wonderful AASHTOWare Project Agents of Change. I wanted to take a second to appreciate all the work we accomplished throughout the year:

  • For the first time since 1988, we completely revamped our Bylaws and Constitution
    • Updates to the members of the Board: remove Treasurer position and add 4 Advisor positions
    • Updates to the terms of the Board Members: each position can volunteer for 2 two-year terms
    • Updates to how the host states are selected
    • New electronic voting option for the Agency User Reps (used for the first time in July 2024)
    • Updates to the nominations process for PUG Board positions
  • The Agency User Reps passed a resolution to update the balloting process generated by our ballot subgroup
  • Held quarterly meetings with TAG Coordinators and completed:
    • Standardization of TAG meeting processes (impact surveys, PUG/PTF/AASHTO updates, endorsements, etc)
    • Provided clarity to quorum and voting rules
  • Worked alongside AASHTO in our transition of PUG Conference planning responsibilities

Here’s the best part. We’re not done. Only a little over a month away from the 2024 PUG Conference. A time for the Agents of Change to come together and collaborate, innovate, and create change. At the PUG Conference you will have the opportunity to learn about the following and so much more:
