Spotlight on Community Involvement – TAG (Technical Advisory Group) Member
November 21, 2024The AASHTOWare Project Technical Advisory Groups (TAGs) advise the Project User Group (PUG) on how to enhance existing applications. The TAGs conduct regular meetings along with an annual business meeting that takes place at the PUG conference.
They consist of a Coordinator, Co-Coordinator, and members. Only one member per agency is permitted on a TAG as the voting member. Currently, there are eight active TAGs, each dedicated to a specific business area.
“The best thing I can say about the TAG is you meet “you” from other states, and that is huge. Many times, if you don’t know the answer at your agency, no one else does. You have no one there to bounce ideas or problems off.
The TAG gives you that opportunity – it is comprised of members from many states and chances are, someone knows the answer because they had the same problem and solved it.
It has been a great opportunity to get other perspectives on how we all use the same system in different ways.”
