Every year, students in high school math classes nationwide grapple with a common question: “When will I ever use this stuff?” This year, educators and traffic safety practitioners in Idaho collaborated to address that question for students in the state. The outcome is the recently launched program titled “Do the Math. Save a Life.” This program utilizes Idaho’s crash dashboards to teach Algebra and data analysis skills. It employs real-life crash data to illustrate mathematical concepts such as scatter plots, frequency tables, and claim analysis.
