The AASHTOWare Bridge Design and Rating Task Force is pleased to deliver version 7.4 of the AASHTOWare Bridge Design (BrD) and AASHTOWare Bridge Rating (BrR) products and the combined Design and Rating product (BrDR).
Work is now underway on the release scheduled for September 2023. Version 7.5 will introduce an advanced multi-cell box superstructure definition for curved and complex geometry. In addition, the 7.5 release will include the Phase 1 implementation of the next generation of the Report Tool.
As the use of the AASHTOWare BrDR software continues to grow, the number of ideas submitted by our users to improve the software continues to increase. In an effort to address and prioritize these issues in a strategic manner, a Backlog TAG was created to review
An Analysis Technical Advisory Group (TAG) has recently been formed to assist with evaluating Jira issues related to the application and interpretation of the AASHTO bridge specifications within the BrDR software. The goal of this TAG is to form a consensus on specification interpretation or advance the issue to the relevant AASHTO Technical Committee for clarification.
Before each release of the AASHTOWare BrDR software, a group of dedicated engineers/testers review the software via the Beta Testing process. While the Alpha testing process provides quality assurance of the software utilizing the contractor’s staff, the Beta testing process provides a review from the perspective of the agencies who use/license the software.
Since the completion of version 7.0 of the AASHTOWare BrDR software, the Task Force and ProMiles have been working diligently toward implementing many of the enhancements that have been requested throughout the modernization and, at the same time, setting the strategic goals for the coming 3 to 5 years.
Get ready and pack your bags, we are looking forward to seeing you in Madison, Wisconsin.
