As 2020 is coming to a close, I am sure that some of you are like me and wish that several areas in your lives were back to “normal”. I thought I would highlight some of the positives that have come from the amazing example of the collaborative spirit that each of you bring to the AASHTOWare Project product. The AASHTOWare Project Task Force wants to thank each and every one of you for your continued commitment and passion to enhancing the AASHTOWare Project product suite.
The AASHTOWare Project Task Force (PTF) is saddened to announce that Tara Huntrods has stepped down from PTF.
She departed from the Iowa Department of Transportation (IDOT) on October 29, 2020. Tara took a new position within Iowa. We appreciate her contributions over the last year and a half and wish her well in her new role.
For those that do not know me, I am Adam Spitzley from the Michigan DOT and the 2021 Chair. As we all know by now, the 2020 Project User Group conference was completely virtual due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Even though we were not able to attend and network in person this year, we still had a lot of content to cover!
The AASHTOWare Project Task Force (PTF) works together with our product contractor, Infotech, to produce useful resources for agencies throughout the year. We aim to provide agencies with a set of educational resources so they can make informed decisions regarding their use of AASHTOWare Project. In this article, we’ll provide an update on the ongoing AASHTOWare Project Webinar Series and provide details about the AASHTO Annual Meeting.
A Ticketed Modification Request, commonly referred to as a TMR, is the process by which the AASHTOWare Project™ and Infotech team evolve and enhance the software based on user feedback. In this article, we’ll dive into the TMR process, discuss different types of TMRs, and review the AASHTOWare Project Task Force (PTF) review process.
AASHTOWare Project™ 4.4 is now live!
On September 30, AASHTOWare Project 4.4 officially went live to our user community with a host of updates, enhancements, and warranty fixes. Agencies are encouraged to begin their upgrade process to start enjoying improvements to a variety of modules.
This year has been very different in many ways but overall, the AASHTOWare Project User community has continued to meet during their regularly scheduled TAG and FPG virtual meetings. Once the PUG Board announced that the Annual PUG meeting was going to be virtual, the PTF recognized that it was also an opportunity to conduct a Town Hall to speak with as many users as possible.
The PTF is currently seeking individuals interested in volunteering to serve on this vital product task force. Based on the current AASHTOWare Project strategic initiatives, the ideal candidate would have some design, estimating, and/or GIS related experience. With that said, the PTF is always willing to consider any interested candidates.
