Greetings everyone,
I am guessing many of us didn’t have this version of 2020 on any vision board. I want to assure you that the AASHTOWare Project™ Task Force (PTF), AASHTO, and Infotech staff have continued the vision on delivering and enhancing the AASHTOWare Project product to meet the needs of you, the user community. Please know that all of us, The AASHTOWare Project Task Force, AASHTO staff and Infotech staff, hope that you are healthy and well and continue to be.
This installment of the AASHTOWare Project Quarterly newsletter reflects that vision in highlighting our recent enhancements, not only to AASHTOWare Project but also the aashtowareproject.org website to ensure you have the most current information.
This year has provided many interesting challenges for us to overcome and the PUG Conference has not avoided these challenges either. In May, the Board announced that the in-person events for the conference were canceled this year and that we were committed to providing essential components virtually. We’re happy to share the updates below and show we’re not only completing essential components but also offering more!
Infotech is pleased to announce that in support of this year’s PUG virtual meeting, we will host an Open Office Hours schedule of Zoom meetings that will be the foundation for a virtual demo room.
Monday, September 28, 2020, through Thursday, October 1, 2020, PUG members can sign up for specific topics or enter the demo room and request help from Infotech subject matter experts (SMEs). This virtual demo room will be open daily from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM ET and from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM ET.
A little over a year ago, the AASHTOWare Project Task Force (PTF) launched aashtowareproject.org, an all-in-one AASHTOWare Project resource site. Our goal is to continue improving aashtowareproject.org based on the feedback we receive from our user community. Our most recent update brings increased flexibility and clarity to Call Tickets, TMRs, PUG Ballot Results, the Agency Environment Database, and more.
Ensuring that AASHTOWare Project and all product extensions are American Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant is a primary goal of the AASHTOWare Project Taskforce (PTF). Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act (29 U.S.C. § 794d) requires that Federal agencies’ electronic and information technology is accessible to people with disabilities, including employees and members of the public.

Way back in the summer of 2018, the AASHTOWare Project Data Analytics™ solicitation was released and eleven agencies joined together to commit funds and expertise to the development project. We are excited to announce that the Wisconsin Department of Transportation has recently become the twelfth agency to join the solicitation!
The AASHTOWare Project Task Force (PTF) works together with our product contractor Infotech to produce a myriad of resources for agency use throughout the year. Our goal is to provide agencies with the latest tools they need to make the most out of their usage of AASHTOWare Project, while also showcasing a variety of use cases for the platform.
AASHTO is pleased to announce the addition of Ms. Chui McConnell as the new Senior Marketing Specialist. Chui (pronounced Choy) will be working with the AASHTOWare team to create and implement marketing campaigns.
