The AASHTOWare Project Task Force hopes that this latest installment finds you well as we continue our commitment to bringing you articles related to product enhancement and user community opportunities. Soon there will be new opportunities to become engaged as we embark on a Hybrid Agile approach to designing and delivering your AASHTOWare Project software. We encourage you to use the AASHTOWare Project Forum, module specific TAG meetings, the AASHTOWare Project website, or this newsletter as dedicated platforms to keep you up to date on the latest information or ways to reach out to other agencies to learn best practices.
As we continue into the 2022 Construction season, it seems like each of us gets busier and busier as the days go by.
That being said, I’d like to bring up opportunities to become more involved with the AASHTOWare Project software development. I know, I know, more meetings!
Last November, the AASHTOWare Project™ Technical & Applications Architecture (T&AA) Task Force released the 2021 version of the Standards and Guidelines (S&G) Notebook with a new Hybrid Agile Development and Maintenance Standard that identifies a hybrid Agile approach for development, enhancement, and maintenance work and includes a different work intake model.
Joint development is the core principle of the AASHTOWare Project. The software evolves through rigorous collaboration by enabling agencies to pool funds and drive enhancements forward in AASHTOWare Project. Joint development provides a means for AASHTO member agencies to pool their business, technical, and financial resources together on a voluntary basis to produce a product truly created for the user community because it’s made and collaborated on by the user community.
Our goal is to provide agencies with the latest tools to receive the most value from the AASHTOWare Project and its complementary services while also making sure the user community is informed and educated about the AASHTOWare Project initiatives. Here is a summary of recent marketing activities and resources.

A Ticketed Modification Request, commonly referred to as a TMR, is the process by which the AASHTOWare Project™ and Infotech team evolve and enhance the software based on user feedback. This article will dive into the TMR process, discuss different types of TMRs, and review the AASHTOWare Project Task Force (PTF) review process.
In March 2022, Maria Robinson joined the AASHTO team as an Associate Project Manager. Maria comes from Interstate Moving Relocation Logistics, where she worked as a Junior Project Manager. She assisted the Program Manager with the completion of numerous complex projects. Before her employment at Interstate Logistics, Maria worked as an Administrative Assistant at V. Alexander – an international freight forwarding company.
