AASHTOWare Bridge Design and Rating (BrDR) Version 7.8 introduces pier cap rating for substructures. Rating calculations are performed according to the AASHTO Manual for Bridge Evaluation, 3rd Edition with 2024 Interims.
A new hosted database service is now available for agencies with the Unlimited licensing option. Database hosting services are provided by the AASHTOWare Bridge Design and Rating (BrDR) contractor, ProMiles Software Development Corporation (ProMiles).
A relatively new resource for AASHTOWare Bridge Design and Rating (BrDR) support is the BrDR Support Service Desk Confluence site. Confluence provides a “wiki-like” interface for all types of information about BrDR, from installation and database questions to release notes and detailed explanations of some of the calculations inside BrDR.

In 2026 AASHTO is bringing together the AASHTOWare Rating and Design Bridge User Group (RADBUG) and Bridge Management User Group (BrMUG) meetings to strengthen collaboration and create a more unified approach to address bridge-related challenges.
In May 2024, AASHTOWare and ProMiles established a Strategic Alliance to offer AASHTO members access to an integrated oversize/overweight permitting and routing system, now branded as AASHTOWare PermitRoute.
