As 2022 quickly comes to a close and so much exciting work has happened, the PTF would like to thank all of you for continuing your efforts to improve AASHTOWare Project. I hope that everyone that was able to join us in person at the Project User Group (PUG) Annual meeting is still energized and using knowledge or training received in your own agency.
I am excited to introduce myself as the Chair of the AASHTOWare Project Users Groups Board. I am honored to have been selected for this role and am looking forward to the year ahead. I am the AASHTOWare Project Manager for the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities and am responsible for our Department’s implementation of the software.
The AASHTOWare Project Task Force (PTF) works together with our product contractor Infotech to produce resources for agency use throughout the year. In our latest marketing agreement, we’ve committed to a series of campaigns aimed at educating and informing the AASHTOWare Project user community to ensure you’re getting the most out of the software.
Volunteerism has always been the cornerstone of AASHTO. From the beginning, it’s been an organization driven by its agency volunteers. AASHTOWare began as one of the early outputs of the Cooperative Computer Software Development program when Infotech sold AASHTO its Bid Analysis and Management System (BAMS) software in 1985.
The growth and evolution of AASHTOWare Project all comes at the direction of dedicated volunteers. No matter your level of experience or availability, there’s a way for you to get involved with one of the many volunteer groups that keep AASHTOWare Project moving forward.
AASHTOWare Project™ 4.8 was released on October 7, 2022, and it is packed with enhancements, tech upgrades, and warranty fixes. Agencies are encouraged to upgrade as soon as possible in order to take advantage of these improvements.

I found this quote recently, and it struck me that, in some ways, it fits us as a user community for AASHTOWare Project. We all want to see AASHTOWare Project improve and “be something,” if I may paraphrase Ms. Tomlin.
We want to extend sincere thanks and acknowledgment to agencies that put effort into funding or co-funding TMRs in recent enhancement releases. We very much appreciate your dedication, and we are so grateful to have you as our customers. You all play a crucial role in the success of the AASHTOWare Project!
