The software enhancements for FY 2023 are well underway. The following are the enhancements that you will see at the end of FY 2023. None of these enhancements will have an impact on the calibration coefficients. The calibration coefficients your agency is using with v2.6.2 and v3.0 will be applicable to the version to be released in July 2023.
User and TRT comments, as well as other stakeholder feedback, during the development process, are paying off. The PMED team and Task Force appreciate and use this feedback to prioritize and implement new features in the application. The following are enhancements being made to the user interface (UI) to improve user satisfaction, most of which have already been completed.
Two other products will be available at the end of FY 2023 in support of pavement design in accordance with the PMED software. These two products include:
- Materials Test Protocols or standard practices to determine the input variables for which no formal procedure currently is available.
The spring Pavement ME task force meeting is being held in Tucson, AZ on April 4 and 5, 2023.
As most know, FHWA has sponsored the user group meetings for many years, but their sponsorship will come to a close at the end of this FY. AASHTOWare and the Pavement ME task force thank FHWA for this support and sponsorship. These user group meetings have been very beneficial, so AASHTOWare is making plans on continuing the user group meetings. Additional details will follow in future newsletters, so make plans to attend the user group meeting next fall.
The 3rd webinar this fiscal year was held on March 7th and focused on demonstrating the impact of material testing and libraries relative to the predicted distress of flexible and rigid pavements. Nearly 200 attended this webinar and came with lots of great questions. The presentation and recording for the 3rd webinar, as well as for the first two webinars delivered earlier this fiscal year, are available on the PMED website.
The 4th and final webinar for this fiscal year will be delivered in late May. The title of the 4th webinar is V3.0 Software Enhancement and Features: Improving User Satisfaction.
We encourage you to send in your topics of interest for future FY2024 webinars. All suggestions are reviewed by the PMED task force.
