We look forward to keeping you up to date on Pavement ME Design news and we encourage you to send us suggestions for articles to be included in upcoming editions of the newsletter. We also plan to publish a newsletter each quarter. Enjoy!
Don’t forget to update to the latest software upgrade! Version 2.5.5 includes platform updates for the web technology application, including performance improvements to the ICM and APADS. Download the latest version at www.me-design.com today.
Three webinars are in the planning stage for October and November. Webinars are typically planned about a month after the annual software release. As there were no major enhancements for Version 2.5.5, the webinars being planned for this year will focus on the new soon-to-be released calibration tool.
The red-lined version for the third edition of the MEPDG Manual of Practice has been balloted. This edition includes all of the enhancements added since publishing the 2nd Edition in 2015 and will be integrated in the release of version Pavement ME Design Version 2.6.
As mentioned in the previous newsletter, many agencies are requesting more detailed support to assist in the local calibration of the Pavement ME Design transfer functions for predicting distress and performance.
The evolution of the analysis modules for the web technology application is now complete; a process critical for executing and maintaining the application in a web technology environment while removing the inherent analysis dependencies on the file system.
Please send any questions or issues related to using the software to the ME Design website and/or contact the Help Desk Manager Shobhit Mundra at http://me-design.com/MEDesign/Report.aspx, via email at pavementmedesign@ara.com, or phone 1-217-356-4500.
Service units are available for purchase through AASHTO for implementing and using the Pavement ME Design software package. Many state agencies have already purchased several service units and they can contact AASHTO to redeem them for implementation support.
As a friendly reminder, the Pavement ME Design Task Force is continually taking action to improve the software and welcomes suggestions from users. Suggestions are reviewed and prioritized at each Pavement ME Design Task Force meeting.
As a reminder from the last e-Newsletter, please note that the pavement engineering discussion forum is no longer available for through the AllAnswered website. A new discussion forum location can be found at www.engineering.stackexchange.com. The software maintenance team will be moving the existing Q&A over to the new site.
We want to remind you that there are many resources related to all aspects of Pavement ME Design. A significant amount of research has been conducted in relation to the software and we want to highlight some of these. The MEPDG Clearinghouse is a great resource to see what research has been done by state highway agencies for implementing the Pavement ME Design.
