Greetings everyone,
This installment of the AASHTOWare Project Quarterly newsletter continues to highlight many areas of continued or new focus within the AASHTOWare Project product and community, including product release information and welcoming a new PTF member, Doug Harz from Connecticut DOT. We also want to take the time to remember Mike Jenkins, a very devoted user of the AASHTOWare Project community, and we have asked a long-time peer and friend, Jeff Hisem, to share a few words.
The AASHTOWare Project Task Force, the AASHTO staff, and the Infotech staff hope you are healthy and well and continue to be.
We are looking forward to another successful year in AASHTOWare Project!
License renewal season has begun, and we love having you as our customer! We look forward to another successful year and want to ensure you continue taking advantage of our unique and powerful enterprise software suite designed by you, especially for you and your peers; retain all your current preferences and access to the software and the community resources.
The PTF is pleased to announce that Doug Harz from the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) has been appointed by the Special Committee on AASHTOWare (SCOA) to join the PTF. Doug is a Transportation Engineer III with CTDOT and serves as a team lead and admin for their AASHTOWare Project Implementations.
We’re looking forward to working with Doug to make AASHTOWare Project a better software for our users. Welcome, Doug!
AASHTOWare Project™ 4.5 is now live! On March 10, AASHTOWare Project 4.5 officially went live to our user community with a host of updates, enhancements, and warranty fixes. Agencies are encouraged to begin their upgrade process to start enjoying improvements to a variety of modules. There are a total of 27 enhancements in this release, with an additional 103 TMRs resolved. Perhaps most excitingly, dashboard functionality is included in this release and will be bolstered in future releases. To read the full EUD on this upgrade, sign in to aashtowareproject.org and navigate to Announcements.
The Project Task Force (PTF) hosted a successful town hall meeting on March 29th. We want to thank our participants for joining and sharing your feedback with us on Monday. It’s imperative to the PTF that we’re hearing from users like you directly since AASHTOWare is built with the needs of DOTs in mind. We hope you found the town hall valuable; we know we did!
Together with the AASHTOWare Project™ Task Force (PTF) and Infotech, AASHTO provides educational resources and opportunities for agencies to stay up-to-date on the latest information to make the most out of AASHTOWare Project. Our marketing resources are designed to showcase the capabilities of various modules and enhancements to help agencies make informed decisions on usage, implementations, and upgrades.
The COVID-19 pandemic is still affecting all our lives, and the 2021 PUG is no different! The 2021 PUG will be virtual again this year and will be held on Monday, September 27th through Thursday, September 30th, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM ET. The PUG Board is still discussing the content of the conference. Like the 2020 PUG, there will be no cost to attendees.
The AASHTOWare Project community lost a real champion recently in the person of Mike Jenkins. Technically, Mike worked for the Indiana Department of Transportation. They allowed him to be a participant in AASHTOWare Project activities was fortuitous certainly for his employer. But it also reaped great rewards for the product itself. When Mike was doing volunteer work for AASHTOWare Project, he was difficult to ignore. His presence, accomplishments, and contributions, from participation in the User Group to his many stints as members of various Technical Advisory Group and TRT’s, were truly impressive.
